Twentieth Century Fox International is the first distributor this year to reach the $1 billion mark at the international box office. No one has reached $1 billion domestically.

Fox International crossed $1 billion in revenues on Sunday as 3D toon Rio continued to rack up strong business. The movie has cumed $292 million to date internationally, and should reach $300 million sometime this week.

It?s the third year in a row that Fox International has reached $1 billion mark first.

?We couldn?t be more proud of the Fox International team for once again reaching this milestone first. Achieving $1 billion in box office this early and with an extremely varied slate is a testament to the hard work and incredible talent of our people,? Fox International co-presidents Paul Hanneman and Tomas Jegeus said.

Other 2011 breadwinners for Fox International include Black Swan, which has earned $191 million overseas. It opens in Japan on May 14, and should ultimately cume more than $200 million internationally, and $300 million globally.

Gulliver?s Travels also has been a boon internationally, grossing $156 million this year for an international cume of $194 million. The family film, released in December, grossed only $42.8 million domestically.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is up next, earning $115 million this year for an international cume of $312.6 million.?Love & Other Drugs has earned $56 million internationally.
