Our client, one of Ireland largest shared services centre based in Cork are actively looking for an Income Tax Accountant to join their team for an 8 month contract role. The successful candidate will primarily assist with US GAAP tax accounting & reporting for our clients European Business Unit's.
Position Responsibilities:
? Responsible for coordinating, assisting and reviewing ASC 740 reporting packages (W Schedules) received from assigned European Units.
? Travel to assigned BU's and provide training & support on ASC 740 calculations.
? Help European Business units reconcile and maintain their income tax expense, tax payable and deferred tax accounts.
? Assist assigned business units with a tax return to accrual reconciliation annually.
? Coordinate with the Accounting Firm preparing the local country income tax returns to ensure timely filing for your assigned Business Units. Monitor Database of tax filings and ensure completeness.
? Work with the Business Units in preparing a US GAAP Pre-tax income forecast on a quarterly basis. Analyze and review forecast for reasonableness.
? Work with our clients Corporate Tax Department to provide relevant legal entity tax accounting information that will facilitate tax planning across the Globe.
? Interact with external financial auditors regarding tax provision queries.
? Ensure tax planning initiatives are properly reported for financial statement purposes and the corporate income tax returns.
Qualifications:
? Five plus years US / Local GAAP accounting experience. A mix of professional services and industry experience is desired.
? Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting required. Accounting Certification Required.
? Strong analytical skills and experience with Hyperion and PeopleSoft or other ERP system such as Oracle or SAP.
? Ability to interact effectively with operations finance staff, directors and external auditors.
? Willingness to travel as needed.
