The second day is complete at the 2012 Summer Olympics and in the medal count China still leads all countries with 12 total medals with six of them being gold. The United States are keeping pace with China and currently have 11 medals and three of them being gold. Both China and the United States won six medals in Sunday's competition.
The United States and China are looking to pull away from the rest of the field if they keep up their pace.
Swimming is where the United States picked up medals on Sunday. They won a silver medal in the men's 400m free relay, a silver medal in the women's 400m freestyle Allison Schmitt, Dana Vollmer won a gold medal and set the world record in the 100m butterfly and Brendan Hansen earned a bronze medal in the 100m breast stroke.
