London visitors can soon rocket down the Thames

London is renowned for its landmarks and museums rather than its adrenalin-pumping thrills, but from the end of this month, people staying in hotels in the capital will be able to experience the River Thames at high speed.

On 27 July, London RIB Voyages' Charlie Matheson launches Thames Rockets, a racy red speed boat service set to a rousing British soundtrack.?

Starting from St Katherine's Dock, passengers will be taken on a 40mph journey east to the Thames Barrier inside the river's High Speed Zone, while listening to, among others, The Beatles, Boris Johnson and the theme from Eastenders.?

'Thames Rockets will be the talk of London this summer,' predicted Mr Matheson.?

'We're giving thrillseekers an exciting, unforgettable boat ride experience with a difference, which really celebrates the capital and all that's great about Britain.'

Rides, which will take place at weekends and on select weekdays, cost ?40 per adult and ?30 per child aged 10-14. It is not recommended that younger kids take part.ADNFCR-408-ID-801610385-ADNFCR
